Yes, lesbian period dramas have already become the subject of lazy satire, but we’ve got another one coming with a twist: it’s from Paul Verhoeven.
The director of Showgirls has made a movie telling the true story of lesbian nun—and you’d better believe it’s provocative as hell. The poster is just like, “Here’s a nun’s boob anyway,” and the trailer follows suit but with a lot more grandeur. Yes, the celibate Catholic gay love story has already been done in Tropic Thunder, but it’s sure to be if nothing else interesting to see how the Mad Dutch King of Excess takes it on.
