After years of delays on Beverly Hills Cop 4 and Twins follow-up Triplets, the wildly-belated sequel phase of Eddie Murphy’s career is finally getting kicked off with a different dubious outing. Have a look with the first trailer for Coming 2 America.
As its title suggests, this isn’t one of those “now Akeem is headed to Europe!” followups. This is Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall getting the band back together for another Queens tour, where they’ll play all the old hits and try out a few new numbers too. The impetus for their latest sojourn? On the eve of becoming king, Akeem discovers he fathered a son last time, so now he’s off to find him. Jermaine Fowler plays the son, with Leslie Jones as the mother, Tracy Morgan as the uncle, and now Wesley Snipes is also around. Good for him.
Original set for theaters, Coming 2 America is now coming to (2) Amazon Prime in March.
