Ew: Patton Oswalt catfishes his son in the I Love My Dad trailer

Finally there’s a movie where Patton Oswalt plays a father who cybers with his son. Enjoy your first look at this long-imagined concept with the trailer for I Love My Dad.

Supposedly based on the real-life experience of writer, director, and co-star James Morosini, the film centers on a father (Oswalt) who gets completely estranged from his son (Morosini). Having already been hearing about his son’s life almost solely through Facebook, Papa Patton takes friend Lil Rel Howery’s advice and creates a fake account to stalk his kid through. The problem? The son falls for the woman Oswalt’s pretending to be online! But let he who is without falling in love with a 50-something immediate relative who’s catfishing them cast the first stone.

I Love My Dad hits theaters August 5 and goes on-demand August 12.
