Henry Cavill has found another generically-handsome, muscular white guy that definitely makes sense for Henry Cavill to play. The Man of Steel star has just confirmed that he’ll star in The Witcher, Netflix’s series based on the novel and video game series of the same name. Cavill will play Geralt of Rivia, a supernaturally-powered man who hunts evil monsters, plays nerdy card games, and still takes baths.
The casting comes after some very casual campaigning on Cavill’s part: he posted the above art of himself as Geralt last month, just two days after professing his love for the games and books to IGN, adding, “Absolutely [I would play Geralt]. Yeah, that would be an amazing role.”
And who better to capture the video games’ horrific facial glitches?
