Rugrats is returning as a live-action movie and new series

The moppets of Rugrats are headed toward a grotesque new life as talking, CGI toddlers. Nickelodeon and Paramount just announced that the ’90s Nicktoons classic is being adapted into a (sort of) live-action film that will see Tommy, Chuckie, and the whole gang as computer-generated characters. Additionally, they’ll be returning to the small screen in a new Rugrats animated series Nick just ordered for 26 episodes. As for the film, though, that’s already scheduled for a November 2020 release, with eclectic TV writer David Goodman (Family Guy, Star Trek: Enterprise, Team Knight Rider, and about 20 other series) handling the script. Just wait until you see how realistic the milk physics are when Tommy squirts some at the camera this time.
