Star Trek’s continuing mission heads in yet another direction

Remember how Quentin Tarantino was going to make the next Star Trek? And then Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley was going to make the next Star Trek? Well, apparently neither of those are happening, so Paramount is going to try another thing.

According to Deadline, now the studio has made a blind deal with Star Trek: Discovery writer Kalinda Vazquez for a new movie spin on Star Trek. J.J. Abrams, unwilling to walk away from all the sci-fi franchises he keeps mucking up with returning old cast and thankless action, is set to produce.

Should Paramount decide to go in yet another direction, how about a rom-com about a single Klingon dad adjusting to civilian life and dating in the big city and it’s called Modern Worf-are?
