It seems The Mandalorian finale director and IG-11 voice Taika Waititi may be sticking around to continue the bounty hunt that is getting paid to make Star Wars shit.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the recently Oscar-nominated Waititi is being “courted” to develop a new film in the persistently enduring franchise. Worth noting, though, the report goes on to say, “It is unclear where things stand in those talks. It is also unclear whether the project is separate from the one being developed by Kevin Feige, with whom he closely worked on Ragnarok, or a separate Star Wars project.”
And perhaps more notably, Waititi has since posted this on Twitter:
A sign that this is all just talk? Or is it a hint that, at long last, we’ll get a droid with the wonderfully pompous voice of Matt Berry?
(Please be the second option.)
