Oscar-winning director and apparent high school drama teacher Tom Hooper is taking us from Les Misérables to Cats, and he’s got some big names coming along on our little Broadway field trip. Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Sir Ian McKellen have reportedly signed on to star in Hooper’s adaptation of the long-running musical in which adults put on stripy leotards, fright wigs, and makeup, then dance around pretending to be cats. There’s no mention of whether this cast will do the same or if now the wonders of CGI will bring the so-called “Jellicle” felines to life, but Hooper damn sure better do this in 3D. Entering the audience is how they immerse you in the magic!
