Zoë Kravitz is taking Channing Tatum to Pussy Island

Pussy Island is no longer just the mythical place your bully tells you you’re from. Now it’s also going to be a Channing Tatum movie!

Deadline brings word that Tatum has signed on to star in Pussy Island, a thriller set to be Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut. Kravitz also co-wrote the script, which sees a young L.A. cocktail waitress manipulate her way into the inner circle of a philanthropist and tech mogul (Tatum). That earns her a trip to his private party island, where she comes to sense something terrifying lurking beneath all that puss. It makes sense, because you better believe that if Zuckerberg had a private island, there would definitely be something fucked up going on there. Kravitz will not star.

Explaining the fake-30 Rock-show-but-crasser title, Kravitz said it “was kind of a joke at first, this place where people would go, bring women, party and hang out. The story evolved into something else, but the title wound up having multiple meanings. And it alludes to this time and place we claim to not be in anymore, in terms of sexual politics.” Indeed, for as far as gender equality has come, are we not in many ways still treading the waters of Pussy Island?
