The entire premise of the Child’s Play series is that an innocent-looking doll could be a serial killer. So it’s weird that, even in this second trailer for the Child’s Play reboot, it’s so coy about showing that cherub-faced lil’ murderer at all.
Instead, this new tease is more about technophobia, stressing how our new Chucky (voiced by Mark Hamill) can wield more than a knife: he can also control the thermostat, a drone (didn’t the Puppet Master reboot already do that?), and other wifi-connected devices.
If you weren’t scared owning both a robot doll and a smart-fridge yet, you will be when Child’s Play hits theaters June 21.
