It’s been a while since we’ve had a Snakes on a Plane-style thing to capture the idiocy of an animal and another insane thing, and that somehow doesn’t go straight to video. But, good news: here’s a new one! Check it out in the trailer for Cocaine Bear.
As reported a couple years ago, the film is based on the true story of a 175-pound black bear that, in 1985, “apparently died of an overdose of cocaine after discovering a batch of the drug.” Like so many OD biopics, the drama before the death has itself here been overdosed, with the bear going on a coke-fueled rampage that involves Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Margo Martindale, and the final role of our greatest on-screen coke fiend, Ray Liotta. Rest in powder.
Directed by Elizabeth Banks and produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Cocaine Bear hits theaters February 24.
