Disney+ somehow already at point of Turner & Hooch reboot

Launched only a month ago, Disney+ has apparently already fallen to the depths of rebooting Turner & Hooch.

Like a detective forced to team up with a goofy dog that drools, the streaming service has reportedly paired up with lighthearted procedural-maker Matt Nix (Burn Notice, The Good Guys) for a series based on the 1989 Tom Hanks comedy about a detective adopting his murdered partner’s dog to solve the homicide.

Notably, a pilot for a Turner & Hooch series was already made and aired in 1990, back when anyone at all cared about the happenings of Turner and/or Hooch. That one starred Thomas F. Wilson—better known as Biff from Back to the Future—but thanks to Nix already working with Colin Hanks on The Good Guys, perhaps now the show could be a generational passing of the torch. Colin plays the son of Tom’s Scott Turner, and Hooch is long dead and only mentioned in passing.
