Kevin Hart is returning to his familiar role of “man riding around annoying other, larger man.”
According to Deadline, Hart and Will Smith are set to star in and produce a remake of 1987 John Hughes comedy classic Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Aeysha Carr, a writer on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Everybody Hates Chris, is handling the script.
The original of course saw Steve Martin and John Candy as ill-fated travelers trying to get from New York to Chicago in time for Thanksgiving, things becoming complicated at both logistical and personal levels. This will be its first follow-up since 2014’s poorly-received sequel, Planes: Fire & Rescue.
