One-Punch Man live-action movie coming from Justin Lin

Well, it seems that directing Vin Diesel in cumulatively a little over five Fast movies has poisoned Justin Lin’s brain as for what he can do with a weird, muscly bald man with an increasing demand for high-stakes action.

Now Lin is doing a One-Punch Man movie.

According to Deadline, Lin is set to direct a live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are attached to write the script. That pair previously wrote Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Venom—films we at TV-VCR respectively graded a D and a D-. So that’s an auspicious beginning for an adaptation genre equal only to video game movies in either being terrible or left in development hell!

Anyway, for the unfamiliar, One-Punch Man focuses on Saitama, a hairless superhero who has taken out any foe he’s encountered with a single strike. The series sees him seeking out stronger enemies who may finally give his knuckle sandwich better resistance.

As with the role of Lex Luthor, it’s expected that casting rumors will swirl around various bald guys until someone remembers that razors exist.
