The Book of Boba Fett trailer begins authoring its needless tome

As teased at the end of The Mandalorian‘s second-season finale, Boba Fett has his own series now. We already made a series about a guy in cool Mandalorian armor—which was the only notably cool thing about the near-silent Boba Fett to begin with—but apparently that wasn’t enough. We couldn’t just leave Boba in the sarlacc pit. We need to see the merciless, fan-favorite bounty hunter as a level-headed, paunchy leader. Just as the fans wanted! So have a look, fans, with this trailer for The Book of Boba Fett.

The Disney+ series sees Temuera Morrison’s titular antihero return to the long-dead Jabba’s so-called palace and take his seat as mob boss of Tattooine. As he explains here, “Jabba ruled with fear. I intend to rule with respect.” He’s doing the classic Mafioso thing of “instead of us crime lords fighting each other, let’s just make a bunch of money together,” and he’s got Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand at his side to help enforce it. Given the entirety of a galaxy, you’d there’d be other, more interesting places to do explore, but nope; we’re right back to the place where it’s sandy all over, with the guy who we already saw die there forty years ago. How delightful!

We’ll find out whether Boba makes time to fit in some podracing when The Book of Boba Fett hits Disney+ December 29.
