From its cast and premise, The Good Cop makes a lot more sense as a Funny or Die short than the full-blown Netflix series it is. Josh Groban is a detective who always plays by the rules; Tony Danza is his father, a delightfully amoral cop who’s back in his son’s life after a prison stint. What a perfectly mismatched pair! The comedy comes from Monk creator Andy Breckman, who took the extremely sitcom-y premise from the Israeli series of the same name. You can invite some Danza into your home again when The Good Cop hits Netflix September 21.
