Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie to encourage new generation of furries

Chip-Chip-Chip and Dal (Rescue Rangers) are returning to the screen, to be weirdly sexualized once again. According to THR, The Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer (Popstar, Hot Rod) is set to direct Disney’s CGI/live-action take on Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, the late ’80s cartoon about some rodents and a fly running a detective agency. It’s said the angle “will not be an origin story nor detective agency story. Rather, the take is being described as being meta, something self-referential and cool.” And when has a studio’s idea of being “self-referential and cool” not turned out incredibly cool?
