Unforgettable Proves Forgettable! Phoenix Forgotten Completely Forgotten! Those are just a two of many far more clever headlines I could have written for this weekend’s anemic box office.
Newcomers Unforgettable, Phoenix Forgotten, The Promise, and, in more limited release, the enjoyable if likewise forgettable Free Fire all opened below the top five, none even cracking $5 million. The only new release to do that was the Disneynature documentary Born in China, which opened in fourth with $5.1 million. Above that, things panned out just like last week: Fate of the Furious at the top, followed by the strangely resilient Boss Baby, then Beauty and the Beast.
