Never has what is ostensibly a feature film felt more like a trite television pilot than this trailer for The God Committee. Julia Stiles plays a doctor—of course on her first day at a hospital—who joins colleagues Janeane Garofalo and a bewigged Kelsey Grammer in deciding a recipient for a heart transplant. Dan fuckin’ Hedaya—with respect to Dan fuckin’ Hedaya—gets a special credit, punctuating how insane it is this is not just casually airing on ABC next Sunday night. Instead, it will be released like it’s an actual movie July 2.
